“Be the change you wish to see in the world,” Gandhi said.

Tasha Diamant models vulnerability by appearing naked and unscripted at public Human Body Project events. For this viscerally affecting, ongoing interdisciplinary inquiry and performance art project, Diamant bravely chooses to lead by example or “be” and embody the humanity we all share: physicality, fragility, mortality. The goal: compassion, non-domination, shared responsibility. Engaged audiences converse, connect, and participate in these experiential forums.

Diamant started this profound quietly subversive activism work, a personal form of non-violent protest, in 2006. The project started in a local arts center and has expanded to fringe theatre festivals. She shares documentation of these events, as well as a blog, at humanbodyproject.com

Tasha Diamant is a married mother of two young children. She is an award-winning instructor of public speaking, art, and communication at Lethbridge College in southern Alberta. She has also been a journalist for national publications in Canada and Australia; a visual artist with paintings in hundreds of corporate and private collections; and an experiential workshop facilitator and yoga teacher at Kripalu Center in Lenox, MA.
